The ProTrainings Outdoor Pursuits First Aid Level 3 (VTQ) course is an advanced training programme designed for individuals responsible for safety during outdoor activities and expeditions. This course provides the knowledge and practical skills required to manage injuries and medical emergencies in remote or outdoor environments where professional help may be delayed. Participants will learn how to assess incidents, manage casualties, and provide effective care in challenging conditions. The course focuses on real-world outdoor scenarios, preparing learners to deal with a range of medical situations while maintaining the safety of both the casualty and the wider group. This training is ideal for those leading or supervising outdoor activities where a higher level of first aid knowledge is required. Participants will develop advanced outdoor first aid skills, including: ✅ Understanding the role and responsibilities of an outdoor first aider ✅ Assessing incidents in outdoor and remote environments ✅ Managing casualties and prioritising treatment ✅ Performing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) ✅ Safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) ✅ Managing unconscious casualties and recovery positioning ✅ Treating wounds, bleeding, and shock ✅ Managing fractures, sprains, strains, and musculoskeletal injuries ✅ Responding to medical emergencies such as heart attacks, seizures, and asthma ✅ Managing environmental conditions such as hypothermia, heat exhaustion, and dehydration ✅ Coordinating emergency response and casualty evacuation procedures Who Should Take This Course? This training is suitable for individuals responsible for groups in outdoor environments, including: Outdoor activity instructors Expedition leaders and guides Duke of Edinburgh Award leaders Adventure activity staff Scout and youth group leaders Outdoor education staff Certification & Validity Upon successful completion, participants receive an Outdoor Pursuits First Aid Level 3 (VTQ) Certificate issued through ProTrainings. Certification validity: 3 years recommended renewal Qualification type: VTQ (Vocational Training Qualification) Please note that a minimum of 6 learners is required for this course to run. If the minimum number of bookings is not met, the course may be rescheduled or cancelled. In such circumstances, all affected learners will be notified in advance and alternative arrangements will be offered where possible.
Cancellation Policy
Circet endeavours to meet specified training dates, and reserves the right to alter dates subject to operational constraints: • Where a course is cancelled by the Academy, a full refund or course transfer shall be offered In the event that a delegate is unable to attend a booked training course, the Booking Form cancellation terms apply: • Cancellation prior to the commencement of training shall incur the following charges: • Between 14 and 7 working days: 50% course cost chargeable • Within 7 days: 100% course cost chargeable • All cancellations must be made in writing (email). In the event of non-attendance on the day of training, the full cost of training shall be chargeable • Delegates who fail to complete a course shall be charged at the full rate
